在句子中起名詞作用的句子叫名詞性從句。名詞性從句的功能相當(dāng)于名詞詞組，它在復(fù)合句中能擔(dān)任主語、賓語、表語、同位語等，因此根據(jù)它在句中不同的語法功能，名詞性從句又可分為主語從句、賓語從句、表語從句和同位語從句。今天重點(diǎn)講一下其中的同位語從句。
在復(fù)合句中用作同位語的從句叫同位語從句。同位語從句是名詞性從句中的主要從句之一，從句作同位語表示與之同位的名詞(短語)的實(shí)際內(nèi)容，它的作用相當(dāng)于名詞，對前面的名詞(短語)加以補(bǔ)充說明或進(jìn)一步解釋，相當(dāng)于一個表語從句，它們之間的關(guān)系是同位關(guān)系，即主表關(guān)系。
①同位語概念特征： 名詞+ （逗號/冒號等）+另一解釋說明的名詞性結(jié)構(gòu)。
We found out the murderer，Tom.
注：本句中，名詞Tom對前一個名詞the murder 進(jìn)行解釋說明，Tom視為對the murderer 的同位語。
②同位語從句概念特征：抽象名詞（如news, promise, question, doubt, thought, hope, message, suggestion, words, possibility, idea, assumption, plan, theory, fact 等）+that/whether等+對抽象名詞起解釋說明作用的完整句子;
We found out the fact that he was killed.
注：本句中，the fact 為抽象名詞；that為關(guān)系代詞，不做成分，不能省略；he was killed 對the fact 的內(nèi)容進(jìn)行解釋說明

本句中，theory 為抽象名詞，that為關(guān)系代詞， 句子dreams were the disguised shadows of our unconscious desires and fears 作為句子，解釋說明theory的內(nèi)容，故為同位語從句。
【譯文】一個世紀(jì)以前，弗洛伊德形成了自己革命性的理論， 夢是看不見摸不著的欲望和恐懼的體現(xiàn)。

本句中，evidence為抽象名詞，that為關(guān)系代詞，不充當(dāng)成分，specific speech sounds are recognized by babies as young as 6 months old作為完整句子，對evidence 的內(nèi)容進(jìn)行解釋說明，故為同位語從句。特殊之處在于，本句中，由于同位語從句太長，信息量繁雜，故先行詞evidence與that 引導(dǎo)的同位語從句出現(xiàn)分隔。
【譯文】有證據(jù)表明， 即使6個月大的嬰兒也能辨別出具體的聲音。
3) I have no idea when he will be back.
【1】 主句：I have no idea
【2】 同從：when he will be back.
英語中引導(dǎo)同位語從句的詞通常有連詞that, whether, 少數(shù)情況下，連接副詞how, when, where等也可以引導(dǎo)同位語從句。
【例句】我不知道他什么時候回來。
注意:有時同位語從句可以不緊跟在說明的名詞后面，而被別的詞隔開。
