Dear Mr. Wang,
I am a junior student in the university. I am writing to inform you of the foul smell produced by the artificial lake beside my dormitory. Every time I walk beside the lake, or just open the window of my dormitory, the extremely unpleasant smell becomes so irritating that I cannot concentrate on my study at all.
The water pollution is caused by the waste water, which is mainly discharged by some indiscreet students and teachers at labs in our university. Therefore, I suggest that we clean the lake water first, and then forbid any waste water discharges. To achieve this goal, our university is supposed to enhance the monitoring system, for example, by installing more security cameras around the lake, hiring professional managers to take care of the lake and so on.
